Lutherville Laboratory is proud to be a Green School. We have worked hard in order to achieve this status and will continue to work hard each year. We have an extensive recycling program that goes beyond the school to the surrounding community. Our energy conservation is supported by smart switches in all classrooms. These switches automatically turn lights off when a room is not in use. In addition, our teachers and students focus on habitat restoration through involvement with the “Grasses in Classes” program. Native plants are grown in our school gardens to support bay restoration efforts. Throughout the school campus, we also support the environment via learning gardens and outdoor classrooms and our school system has been recently recognized as one of the best school systems in the country for air quality controls. Our students are active participants in the learning process.
